Bitter is not a bad thing with me, as i tend to enjoy bitter drinks. The flavor is quite tasty and smells amazing.
Black Knight is the third coffee I've tried from Brez! It's also the first where I've left mugs unfinished. It's good, don't get me wrong - but my absentmindedness just can't be overcome by this particular blend.
As usual, I brewed at 195F with a 1:15 ratio, and started with the Aeropress. With the method I got a mild cup of coffee with a bitter finish, with almost no dark chocolate taste - it was more of a very faint undertone or aftertaste. Next was the French press, which may be the winner with this blend: the bitterness is eliminated with this method and the chocolate taste is stronger, with an almost creamy finish.
With an edge pour method with pourover, this blend is very mild, with just a little chocolate taste that gets stronger over time. Finally, the center pour method gives a mellow, slightly bitter cup with, again, just a hint of chocolate.
Overall, Black Knight isn't a blend I'm likely to order again; I prefer a stronger flavoring when going with flavored coffee, and the bitterness it often has just isn't for me. Still, it was a nice one to work through.
Love love love this coffee <3 It is my absolute favorite for iced coffee!
Black Knight proved to be quite tasty, with soft mocha notes adding well to the flavor of a well-roasted coffee. Great in the morning, with chocolate desserts, and after a day of battles to relax and enjoy.
